How do I get to London ExCeL?
You can get to Excel London by rail, road, air, river and cable car.
By rail:
The Jubilee Line and the DLR have stations at Excel London. The nearest station to the entrance to DCW is Custom House.
By car:
On sat nav use the postcode E16 1FR to locate the entrance to the car park.
You can book a parking space and find out about local road restrictionsĀ here.
Please note, the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charge now includes Excel London.Ā Click here to find out if your car is affected.
By air:
London City Airport is the closest airport and is less than a mile from Excel. London has a number of alternative airports, all accessible from the venue via public transport.
By river & cable car:
Take the scenic route to the Excel London by river or cable car and turn your trip to Excel into a tour of London.
Do I need to book a car park space?
Yes, Excel London can get very busy. To guarantee a parking space we recommend youĀ book in advance.
If you have not pre-booked parking it may still be possible to arrive and park on the day.
At the time of writing this, there were no electric car charge points at Excel but this was being reviewed.Ā Check their website for updates.
Are travel/hotel costs reimbursed?

Do I need to register for my own badge?
No. We will send your badge via email a week ahead of the show. The email will come from:Ā [email protected].
If possible, save this email address to your favourites to avoid the badge email going into your junk folder.
Can I print my badge at the show?
Yes, if you need to, you can print your badge at the entrance to the show. However, we recommend printing your badge at home and bringing it with you to avoid any queues and get into the show as quickly as possible.
What do I need to do when I arrive on the day?
Please arrive at the event at least 30 minutes before your session starts to allow plenty of time to find your theatre and get set up.
On arrival at the show entrance, show your badge to a member of staff and make your way to the theatre you are presenting in. To find your theatre check the large āYou Are Hereā board at the front of the event or pick up a Show Guide which contains a map. If you canāt find your theatre ask a member of staff at the show entrance.
At your theatre make yourself known to the stage host 10 minutes before the start of your presentation, so they can prepare you for your session.

Can I share my speaker session to my personal social media?
We encourage all speakers to promote their attendance and session at the event. For inspiration, please go to āPromote Your Sessionā in the Speaker Hub where you will find top tips and downloadable graphics for sharing to your personal social media profiles.

Is there supporting imagery I can post to my social media to show my speaker session at the show?

What is the registration link to share to my followers to attend the event?

What promotions do you offer for speakers?
Please send us your editorial, guest blogs and opinion pieces related to your session. Weāll publish them on to our news page and share on social media to promote your session. Please send stories to Lois by emailingĀ [email protected].
Do I need to send in my presentation for review?
No, you donāt need to send us your presentation prior to the event.
Do I need to produce a PowerPoint presentation in order to present?
We recommend PowerPoint, or suitable alternatives, for your presentation to be displayed on the screen behind the stage. For best practice on creating a PowerPoint presentation, pleaseĀ go to our Speaker Academy tips.
Talking panel sessions donāt require a presentation.
What should I do with my presentation when I arrive?
Hand your presentation USB stick to the theatre host or AV team.
Remember to save videos, audio, images and fonts separately onto the same USB as your PowerPoint presentation. This content is not automatically saved within your presentation and this will prevent the possibility of loosing any vital content needed on the day.
Use the following format to name your presentation file: Name / Date / Presentation Theatre.
Can I use my own laptop to give my presentation?
Yes, itās ok to bring a laptop to present with as long as you bring all the necessary adaptors to connect to the theatre AV equipment. If using your own laptop we always advise bringing a back up presentation on a separate USB drive.
Can I bring handouts/leaflets for those interested?
No, we donāt allow flyering or seat drops in the theatres unless you are the theatre sponsor. If you would like to find out more about sponsoring a theatre, pleaseĀ contact the Sales team.
How much detail shall I add to my presentation slides?
Try not to clutter your PowerPoint slides. As a guide, stand approximately ten times your screen size away. You should still be able to read the text on the slide. We recommend using a mixture of text and images to maintain audience engagement.
How do I change or add another speaker to my presentation?
All changes must be submitted before Friday 1st May 2026.

Any changes after this date will not be reflected on the website, event app or in print at the show.
If youāve already submitted changes before this date but they havenāt yet been updated, the team are processing them.
What time should I arrive at the event?
Please arrive at Excel at least 30 minutes before your session is due to start. The closest station is Custom House. The event entrance is at Hall N1 where staff will be happy to help If you need to print your badge, want directions to your theatre or have any questions.

How do I find my theatre?
All theatres are located on the show floor. To find your theatre, check the large āYou Are Hereā board at the front of the show or pick up a Show Guide which contains a map.
If you canāt find your theatre, ask the staff at the entrance to the show who will direct you and help with any other questions you may have.
Is there a place to store my belongings on the day?
Belongings can be stored at the free Excel cloakroom located on the main Excel concourse. To find the cloakroom head to halls N4 and S4 at the east end of the concourse and take the stairs down to Level 0.
Please note, items canāt be stored overnight and cameras, laptop equipment or any other electronic devices should not be stored in cloakroom.
Will I be notified if my session runs over the time limit?
Yes, you will be discretely notified by show staff at 10 minutes and 5 minutes before your session is due to finish.
How much time should I allow for Q&A?
Allow at least 5 minutes for FAQs at the end of your presentation. This needs to be included in your total session time.
Will there be someone helping facilitate the Q&A?
Yes, the theatre host will have a microphone and facilitate audience questions during the Q&A. They will also make sure presentations run to time.
What are the general entry requirements to DCW?
This is a trade only event and admission is restricted to trade visitors involved in or those who have connections or interest in the event.
Attendees are not permitted to distribute publicity material or solicit for business without written consent of the organisers.
Children under the age of 18, with a genuine interest in the subject matter, can attend if they have received written permission from the organisers and are accompanied at all times by a responsible adult.
Last entry to the event is one hour before the show closes.
Who do I contact to make changes to my session?
The cut-off date to make changes to your session is Friday 1st May 2026.
To change details about your session, such as change of speaker or title, please contact:Ā [email protected].
Please note: Any changes submitted after Friday 1st May 2026 will not be reflected on the website, app or in print at the show.
If you have already submitted changes before this date and they have not yet been updated, these are being processed by the team.
What makes a good speaker photo?
Try to keep your photo professional i.e. no holiday photos, photos with other people or casual wear. Where possible, use natural lighting and provide us with a headshot of yourself smiling/looking at the camera. It is good to have a plain background so you, as the speaker, are the focal point.
You can use your mobile phone to take a photo as this is high-enough quality for us to use.
How do I write a speaker bio?
Hereās some pointers to writing a good speaker bio:
- Keep it brief ā 200-250 words is a good length for your bio.
- Include your current position and a brief mention of work history and experience that is relevant to your speaking topic and audience.
- Include academic qualifications, awards, and a reference to published work, but only if applicable to the material you are presenting.
- Mention previous speaking experience.
- Add something personal to make you stand out.
- Focus on how the audience perceives you.
Where will my speaker information be visible?
Your speaker profile details will be published on the DCW website, the event app, included in collateral at the show and used in the marketing campaign.
How long is my speaker session?
Please refer to your email confirmation for the length of your session as they are not all the same. Your session time must include any time allocated to Q&A.
Is there Wi-Fi available?
There is free wifi at Excel, but donāt rely on this for your presentation. Upload all your presentation content, including videos, to a USB stick to avoid issues using the internet.
What audiovisual equipment will be available?
- A standing lectern with a microphone on the theatre stage
- A wireless microphone that can be attached to your collar
- An LCD projector with a screen behind the stage
- For panel sessions, there will be stools and chairs on the stage.
When are my presentation and/or handout materials due?
You donāt need to share your presentation or hand outs with us before the event.
Bring your presentation to the event on a USB memory stick and hand it to the theatre host when you get to your theatre.
Alternatively, you can present from your own laptop which can be plugged into the theatre AV. Ensure you bring any necessary cables and we recommend bringing a back up of your presentation on a USB stick.
Can I film my session?
We record the audio, if you would like this, please contactĀ [email protected]Ā after the event and we can supply it.
If you would like to bring a videographer to film your session or bring your own filming equipment, this will be dependent on the set up of the theatre. You will also need to undergo a Risk Assessment check and send this to Dan by emailingĀ [email protected]. If you would like a Risk Assessment template to fill-out, please request one from Dan and he will be happy to help.
Will there be a speakers lounge onsite?
There isnāt a dedicated speaker lounge, however speakers can use the DCW Lounge at the centre of the show floor.
To find the lounges, download the event app or pick up a Show Guide. There is also signage at the entrance which features a map of both events.
You can use these spaces to relax, prep for your presentation and network with other speakers.
How best can I facilitate one to ones with those interested to know more
You can use the lounges to collaborate and set up meetings with visitors and/or exhibitors from the show.
Will my session be posted online after the event?
No, sessions arenāt available online after the event. We record the audio of sessions, if you would like a copy to share with your audience after the event contactĀ [email protected].
